AI Assistant Extension - Chrome Extension

AI Assistant Extension is a Chrome extension that helps you get quick, accurate answers while you browse. Originally built by students, it’s designed for tackling questionnaires, surveys, and other prompt-style questions without switching tabs or copying content into another app. The extension adds a simple, interactive workflow: select the question text on any webpage, right‑click, and choose the “Answer” action to generate a response using your own API key and the AI model you selected.

Setup is straightforward. After installing, open the extension’s Options page (right‑click the extension icon → Options), paste in your API key, and choose the model you want to use. You can also adjust the interface to match your preferences with visual theme settings, making the popup and notifications easier to read in different environments (light/dark, etc.).

When you ask for an answer, the extension returns results quickly and can notify you in real time (make sure Chrome notifications are enabled). This makes it useful for fast, repeatable tasks like completing forms, responding to short prompts, and getting help with questions you encounter during research or everyday browsing.

AI Assistant Extension is best used as an on-demand assistant: highlight text, request an answer, review the output, and then paste or adapt it where you need it. Because it relies on your own API key and chosen model, you stay in control of the AI provider and the quality/performance tradeoffs you prefer.
